Good Monday morning, WABBLES, and happy Veterans Day! We’ve got a downright gorgeous day of weather ahead, with sunny skies and comfortable late-fall temperatures ringing in the holiday. But as colder air makes its way down into the States, our mid- and upper-level weather patterns have become active once more. Despite the pleasant forecast for our Monday, we’ll see rain return to the region by mid-week– gone are the long stretches of time between weather systems! We’ll break down your Veterans Day forecast and take a good look at what’s coming, all in today’s weather blog!
Veterans Day Forecast
We’ve got quite the stunner lined up for our holiday forecast on this gorgeous Monday! Expect to see calm, sunny skies all across WABBLES this afternoon as our high temperatures push into the upper-60s for most region-wide. Though we’ve been lingering closer to the 70s for the last several weeks, that late-fall cooldown has arrived; so if you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to pull out those heavier cold-weather clothes, now’s the time!
We’ll see some serious fluctuations in our high temperatures this week, enough to warrant wearing something warm when you’re out and about. But with no precipitation expected this Monday, it truly is a gorgeous day to get out and celebrate our lovely veterans for all they’ve done for our country!
So When Does the Rain Return?
I’ll be happy to let you know! Right now, we’re expecting a pretty potent warm and cold front combination to push through WABBLES during the evening hours on Wednesday, which would bring us some pretty good overnight rainfall into Thursday morning. Because we won’t have been exceptionally warm going into the frontal passage, there isn’t a ton of energy for the front to take advantage of; but there will be a pretty good amount of moisture lingering in the WABBLES region.
What does that mean for us? Well, a lack of energy will keep things like severe storms from pestering us as the cold front moves through, but the ample moisture will allow us to still see heavy rainfall in some places. We’re expecting to see anywhere from three-tenths of an inch to over half an inch of rainfall into midday on Thursday, so make sure you’re prepared for a pretty good overnight soaking as we head into the midweek!
Once that frontal system moves through late Wednesday and early Thursday, we’ll be peachy for the rest of the week and into our weekend here across the region! High temperatures will return to the mid-60s by Saturday, and all will be well again in WABBLES. So there’s your forecast! Pull out those heavier coats to start the week, and as long as you trade them in for rainjackets and umbrellas by Wednesday, you’ll be perfectly fine.
That’s all we’ve got for you today, WABBLES! From all of us here at wxornotBG, we wish you a wonderful Veterans Day and wholeheartedly thank all you amazing Veterans who have served our country. Take advantage of this gorgeous holiday forecast and let us know what you get up to over on Twitter if you so feel like it, and remember to be back here for our midweek blog on Wednesday morning!
Have a wonderful week, folks, and stay safe out there!
