Today’s Forecast

May the 4th be with you for all you Star Wars fans! While the high-pressure system begins to move out of the region, we can enjoy another day of sunny conditions that are firmly on the light side of the Force… for now. Breezy winds out of the south help temperatures to climb back into the upper 70s to low 80s today.

Monday evening remains just as comfortable. Skies stay mostly sunny, and temperatures ease back into the low 70s and upper 60s.

The Rain Returns

Alas, the sunshine doesn’t hang around long during May. Cloudy skies make their return on Tuesday as another low-pressure system stirs things up. With plenty of moisture across the region, widespread showers are expected to move in on Tuesday morning and persist through much of the day.

These showers aren’t expected to be anything severe; just some gusty winds and heavy downpours here and there.

Tuesday’s temperatures begin to climb into the low 70s, but steady showers throughout the day keep things cool by the afternoon.

Widespread showers continue into Wednesday morning and begin to taper off throughout the afternoon as a cold front sweeps in.

While this consistent rain will be beneficial in alleviating our dry conditions, flash flooding poses another risk. The Weather Prediction Center currently has WABBLES in a marginal (1/4) risk for excessive rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday.

This cold front knocks temperatures back down, with highs only reaching into the low to mid 60s on Wednesday. During the overnight and Thursday morning hours, temperatures then dip into the 40s!

By Thursday, we’re back to the calm and cool side of spring. Increasing sunshine allows us to warm into the upper 50s and low 60s, but overall, we’re looking at a much cooler and calmer end to the week.
