Happy Monday morning, WABBLES! After another chilly weekend, spring is reminding us that it is still here. Warmer temperatures are back this week, but soggy conditions aren’t too far behind. Let’s go ahead and dive into this week’s forecast!

Today’s Forecast

This morning starts rather pleasantly with mostly clear skies and morning lows in the mid 50s. While clouds increase today, temperatures still gradually rise into the upper 70s to low 80s.

High pressure over the Atlantic causes strong, southwest winds to bring plentiful moisture and warmth back into the region, helping our high temperatures reach that 80-degree mark.

With that being said, these moisture-rich winds also send our dewpoints climbing, making it feel noticeably more humid for the days to come. Temperatures cool into the low 70s this evening, and a slight chance of spotty showers can’t be ruled out. Overall, it’s shaping up to be a beautiful and warm day!

Warm and Soggy Mid-Week

By Tuesday, breezy southwest winds continue to funnel warm, moist air into the region, allowing temperatures to climb back into the 80s on Tuesday afternoon under mostly sunny skies.

Tuesday evening remains mild, with temperatures in the upper 70s. To keep the spring vibe going, a shower or two can’t be ruled out in the evening either.

By Wednesday, keep that umbrella handy because the first round of April showers will be underway. An approaching cold front is expected to stall to the north of the region, locking WABBLES in a warm sector of moist air that is great for showers and storms.

These showers and storms are expected to push into the region throughout the day on Wednesday, keeping things gusty and afternoon highs a little cooler in the mid-70s.

While widespread severe weather is not expected from Wednesday’s soggy setup, a strong thunderstorm or two with heavy downpours could be possible.

Things start to fizzle out Wednesday evening, but cloud cover keeps WABBLES warm with overnight temperatures in the mid-60s.

By Thursday, the front remains nearby, and more showers and storms continue to develop throughout the day. Thursday’s temperatures hang around the mid-70s as breezy southwest winds continue to pump warm air in.

The pattern remains fairly stagnant for the first couple of days of April; showers and storms galore. Until this stubborn front lifts, WABBLES will be stuck under warm, humid air for a few days!

So keep that umbrella close because springtime showers are on the menu this week. You can follow us on social media to stay up to date with spring’s ever-changing weather. That is about all from me; stay cool, WABBLES!
