Good Monday morning, WABBLES! The spring-like trend continues into this week, with temperatures remaining warm. However, this continued warmth keeps the rainy and stormy weather coming. Let’s go ahead and dive into the details of this week!

Today’s Forecast
The day is starting on the chilly side, with morning temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s. With mostly sunny skies today and breezy southwest winds, high temperatures climb back into the upper mid-70s.

Heading into the evening, temperatures fall back into the low 60s. While we remain dry throughout the day, scattered showers are expected to develop throughout the night.

Stormy Mid-Week Activity
Similar to last week, southwest winds keep the warm air and moisture coming. As rain showers continue to move through the region Tuesday morning, temperatures remain in the low 60s. By Tuesday afternoon, high temperatures climb back into the mid-70s as morning showers exit the region.

However, spring is stirring things up again as a shortwave in the atmosphere and an approaching cold front help kick off a couple of rounds of stronger storms and heavier showers. The first round of storms moves through Tuesday night, highlighting parts of Warren, Butler, Logan, and Edmonson counties in a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms.
As this initial round of storms moves out of the region early Wednesday morning, WABBLES catches a little break from the activity, but not for long… By Wednesday afternoon, the cold front begins to push in, allowing a second and more organized line of strong to severe storms to move in.

Wind speeds also begin to increase, making for a gusty and rainy Wednesday afternoon in WABBLES. These storms quickly move through, but are followed by lighter showers as evening approaches.
The Storm Prediction Center currently has all of WABBLES in a slight risk for severe weather on Wednesday, as the line of storms could be a bit strong. We’ll continue to monitor the movements of this system as the week progresses.

While Wednesday’s afternoon temperatures hang around the mid-70s, the approaching cold front gradually cools them back down. Overnight temperatures on Wednesday fall to the low 40s, making for a chilly start to your Thursday morning!
Sunshine and breezy conditions return on Thursday, but temperatures remain cool with highs in the mid 50s. To end the week, the pattern remains mild, with calm skies and pleasant temperatures.
