Good Monday morning, WABBLES! Just when you thought winter was over, Mother Nature keeps it interesting by sneaking extra espresso shots into Old Man Winter’s morning coffee. This week, we begin on the blustery side, with temperatures and rain chances gradually increasing by mid-week.

Today’s Forecast
Morning flurries continue to move through the region, along with bitter winds from the north to keep things quite chilly in WABBLES today. Be sure to grab your coats because morning temperatures start back out in the upper teens to low 20s!
Afternoon temperatures today only reach into the mid-30s, with breezy winds keeping windchills in the 20s.

Heading into the evening, things remain calm. Temperatures dip back into the lower 20s, making for another chilly night across WABBLES.
Spring Bounces Back
Don’t worry, WABBLES; this cold spell won’t last long. As Old Man Winter’s energy wears off, by Tuesday, temperatures begin to slowly increase. Mostly sunny skies and southwesterly winds allow for afternoon highs to climb back into the mid to upper-40s.

As our calming high-pressure system exits the region and the pressure gradient begins to tighten, winds pick up again on Tuesday evening. Increasing clouds help keep evening temperatures in the mid 40s before lingering in the low 40s overnight.

By Wednesday, winds die down, and temperatures are back in spring mode with highs in the mid to upper 50s. WABBLES remains calm for the most part, but clouds begin to increase as our next system of interest moves in.
As an upper-level shortwave trough moves across the plains, another low-pressure system is expected to develop. Persistent southwest winds allow for moisture to enter back into the WABBLES region.
Light to moderate showers push into the WABBLES region early Thursday morning and are expected to linger throughout the day. To add to Thursday’s soggy and spring setup, temperatures remain spring-like with afternoon highs in the mid-50s.

As Old Man Winter tries to make a comeback this week, spring quickly shuts it down with warmer temperatures and rain showers.
