Good Monday morning, WABBLES! Winter seems to have packed its bags and is on vacation as we welcome back another mild week in WABBLES. This week, the cooler Canadian air stays put to our north, and warmer air out of the south begins to enter.

Today’s Forecast

Our Monday morning starts chilly with temperatures in the mid-30s across the region. With high pressure over the region, skies remain mostly clear, and light winds out of the southwest bring in some warmer air. With plenty of sunshine, high temperatures climb back into the upper 50s to low 60s today.

Heading into the evening, temperatures cool back into the low 50s before dipping back into the 40s overnight.

Mild Weather Continues

By Tuesday morning, a low-pressure system to the northwest extends a warm front that increases our moisture across the region. Clouds begin to increase, but we keep those warm temperatures as highs climb back into the upper-50s to low-60s.

By Tuesday afternoon, the cold front associated with this system pushes through. This front brings in some gusty winds and sweeps out most of our moisture. Evening temperatures fall back into the low 50s before dipping back into the upper 30s overnight.

Wednesday’s temperatures look to be very similar to Tuesday: light southerly winds help temperatures climb back into the low 60s. Some high pressure settles back into the region, keeping things calm for the day.

Unsettled Pattern to end the Week

However, this calm won’t last long as our next system of interest begins to push into the region on Thursday and Friday. While our previous cold front swept some moisture out, a new system with a reinforcing warm front reopens the gates for warm, moist air. WABBLES‘ temperatures climb back into the mid-60s, with dewpoints in the upper 50s and low 60s.

Spotty showers and storms will develop Thursday afternoon and into the evening. Temperatures and dewpoints remain high throughout the night, keeping the air ripe for shower development

By Friday morning, a cold front begins to push into the region, allowing for a more organized line of showers to develop and move into WABBLES. Due to the tight pressure gradient, gusty winds return and could reach up to 40 mph throughout the day.

Temperatures on Friday afternoon remain warm and hang around the mid-60s, and another line of showers is expected to push through Friday night.

While we start the week relatively calm and mild, things are looking more unsettled as we end the week. We’ll continue to monitor the motives of this system as we get closer, but for now, enjoy the unseasonable warm temperatures!
