Happy New Year! Well, a day late I suppose, but nonetheless! After a busy end to 2025, 2026 looks to be coming in more like a lamb
Lightly Showery: Friday and Friday Night
In contrast to where we were at this time last week, we’re starting off our Friday morning not too far from average, but still oh-so slightly above.

I mean, we’re talking a couple degrees instead of, like, 20º, so I think we can handle this one. However, unlike parts of last weekend, the forecast calls for significantly less…action.

We’ve got a weak disturbance passing to our south during the daytime hours could throw some clouds and showers our way, but nothing that appears too bothersome as we start to bring the curtain down on the extended holiday period.

Clouds will likely keep temperatures a bit lower as we head through the daytime hours on Friday, but still a couple of ticks above average, with highs making it into the lower 50s for the afternoon. Clouds and perhaps a sprinkle or two hang tough through the nighttime hours. Lows look to settle back into the middle 30s.
Into the Weekend: Looking Average
After the extremes we saw going from a record high last weekend to a 50 degree overnight plunge to start the “work” week (as it was), I think you will be excited to know that we’re heading for a weekend that’s looking much more tranquil and, well, average.

After our Friday system scoots on out of here, we’ll see decreasing clouds as we head into the day on Saturday. Though, light winds should help bring in slightly cooler air back to the region. Highs should settle back a few degrees back into the upper 40s for the afternoon, which is about where we should be right after the start of the year.

Heading into Sunday, we’ll start to flatten the upper air pattern out again, which should bring us another rather tranquil weather day as we all prepare to head back to work and/or school. Expecting a mix of sun and clouds heading into our Sunday afternoon, as temperatures improve a couple of notches, back to around 50º. That’s within a couple of degrees of where we should be this time of year.

Into Next Week: Getting Milder
High pressure that’s spent time in the region during the weekend should slowly start to elongate and head to the east as we push into the early parts of 2026’s first work week. While this development should keep us dry, it will likely also bring us milder weather as well.

By Monday, we’ll have switched winds around to the south and west, which should help temperatures improve in the afternoon as we should break back out into sunshine.

Partly cloudy skies will have us gently back into the middle 40s during the overnight hours as we prepare to do a few degrees better on Tuesday.

Southerly flow will really help us warm up on Tuesday, as that combined with sunshine should get us up into the lower to perhaps middle 60s. However, that southerly flow is also ahead of another storm system that should start to work into the region for the midweek.

That should keep temperatures well above normal again, we’re talking continuing in the lower to, at times, middle 60s as we head into Wednesday and Thursday, with continued chances for scattered showers. That could lead to yet another opportunity for rain showers as we head into next weekend.
That’s it for me for now! You can always keep up with the latest on all of our social media platforms. Have a tremendous day and a great weekend!
