Today’s Forecast

As last night’s cold front swept through the region, significantly colder air pooled into the state, and temperatures have plummeted. Temperatures this morning and afternoon hang around the upper 20s with windchills in the teens!

Brrr, what a difference! (Pivotal Weather)

With a strong pressure gradient over the region, northwesterly winds remain strong throughout the morning with gusts up to 30 mph. Today we will remain dry, and skies will stay partly cloudy.

Winds could get a bit gusty this morning. (Pivotal Weather)

By the evening, temperatures won’t budge much and remain in the mid-20s, before dropping into the low 20s and upper 10s overnight.

Chilly Weather Holds Fast

By Tuesday, northwesterly winds aloft continue to bring in polar air from Canada. High temperatures slowly climb into the low 30s, and skies remain mostly sunny. Unlike Monday, surface winds calm to a more breezy flow for the day.

Tuesday looks just as chilly. (Pivotal Weather)

Heading into the overnight hours, temperatures drop back into the upper 20s, making for another chilly night across WABBLES.

As the core of the polar vortex shifts north, WABBLES will begin to see “warmer” afternoon temperatures. By Wednesday, highs reach back into the 40s with a light southwesterly flow. Overnight lows then quickly fall back into the upper 20s.

Some moderate temperatures return on Wednesday afternoon. (Pivotal Weather)

New Year’s Day, Thursday, renders similar conditions with high temperatures climbing back into the low 40s under partly cloudy skies. Light northwest winds keep conditions seasonable while overnight lows fall back into the 20s.

Looking ahead to Friday, clouds begin to increase as our next system approaches from the south. Rain chances begin to increase as the system moves just south of WABBLES, with light showers possible into the overnight hours.

Could see rain chances return Friday night into Saturday. (Pivotal Weather)
