Good Monday morning, WABBLES! The festive week is finally here, and boy, does the weather have other plans. After a fairly mild weekend, we’ll continue to warm up to above-average temperatures just in time for the holidays. Let’s go ahead and dive into the details of this week!

Today’s Forecast
To start the festive week, Monday morning temperatures dip into the lower 30s, and skies stay mostly sunny. Gusty winds shift from easterly to southerly due to high pressure to our east and a tightening pressure gradient over WABBLES. As the low-level jet stream winds pick up and more moisture floods in, scattered, light rain showers are expected to move into the region throughout the late afternoon.

These southerly winds also help our high temperatures climb back to the lower to mid-50s. However, increased cloud cover keeps our temperatures in the mid-to-upper 40s for our evening and overnight hours.

The pattern continues
Heading into Tuesday, not much changes: southwesterly winds keep the warm temperatures and moisture coming. An upper-level ridge also begins to take its place across the country, causing some pretty stagnant patterns to hold. High temperatures for Tuesday climb into the upper 50s to low 60s.

Light rain showers continue to develop into Tuesday morning and afternoon, making for another dreary but warmer day. With skies remaining cloudy, evening and overnight temperatures hang around low to mid 50s.

By Christmas Eve (Wednesday), a frontal boundary stalls over the region. This stubborn front keeps our pattern stagnant: temperatures warm back into the 60s, and we continue to watch those increased rain chances.

Looking at Christmas Day (Thursday), skies begin to clear, and we break free of the stalled boundary. However, it in turn lifts a warm front across WABBLES, opening the gates for more warm air.
So if you’ve been dreaming of a “green” Christmas, then you are in luck, WABBLES! This influx of warm air and sunlight could soar temperatures into the 70s on Christmas!
While you may need to break out the shorts again, don’t let the weather alter that Christmas spirit! Travel safely this season, and enjoy time with loved ones!
