WABBLES has been wet so far during this last week of October. However, things are looking better in the wet weather department, with Halloween weather not looking quite so spooky.

Cool but Calm for Ghouls and Goblins

The multiple systems this week that have brought multiple rounds of needed rain are finally pushing on out, which means conditions are improving for all you Friday night ghouls and goblins. Low pressures will be moving out, to be replaced with more tranquil high pressure building back into the region just in time for the weekend. How did we ever get so lucky?

Some clouds will be around early on our Friday, but sunshine will work in during the early afternoon. After a cool start in the upper 30s to near 40º, we’ll nicely warm things up back into the lower 60s during the afternoon hours. A fine, fine day! However, things get cool quick at night.

This cool: a little. (giphy)

With high pressure overhead and winds rather light, we’ll see temperatures drop quick on our second-to-last post-5pm sunset until late January. We’re quickly into the 50s during the evening hours, back until the upper 40s by the time the kiddos wrap up their candy-soliciting adventures…and the older kiddos finish up the last of the regular season football games.

Into the overnight hours, lows should quickly slip into the 40s, settling down into the upper 30s just before daybreak. Appropriately crisp to start November!

Falling Back: Into the Weekend

As we flip the calendar to November, and prepare to set the clocks back an hour, we turn back to the west for another weak system.

Moisture will try to stream in as we work through what looks to be a mostly dry day on Saturday, though we may see an increase in cloud cover.

Maybe not overcast, but definitely some high clouds working back in. (Pivotal Weather)

After a chilly start near 40º, we’ll moderate nicely into the upper 50s to near 60º with at least filtered sunshine heading into the afternoon. If you’re headed to the Houch for the game, things are looking a-okay there as well.

Clouds will continue to thicken, however, as our weak system tries to take shape and scoot on in. That might allow for a few showers to try to sneak in heading into the overnight hours on Saturday. Even so, some chilly air settles in, with lows back into the upper 30s.

Don’t forget to set those clocks back an hour before you go to bed on Saturday night as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end. I know, I know…but we get an extra hour of sleep, right?

You bet this is me with that extra hour. (Giphy)

Our weak system pinwheeling to our south just doesn’t have enough oomph or moisture to provide us with more than a few clouds and maybe some sprinkles or light showers through early Sunday. Other than that, dry weather and increasing sunshine will be the name of the game.

I think the NAM’s overdoing the rain cooled aspect of the

Yes, you read that map right, we’re back into the lower 60s for a daytime high on our Sunday. Perhaps a few clouds push in during the evening and overnight hours, but we’re mostly in good shape as lows fall back into the lower 40s, perhaps upper 30s in the cooler spots.

Milder Air: Into Next Week

Following a weekend of Halloween fun and re-adjustment of internal clocks, we’re back to a rather comfortable start to our work week.

But a clever type of comfort, like this enterprising and cunning feline. (peachbaby studio / giphy)

High pressure from the south settles back in really for much of the early part of the week, which should allow for a little bit of milder air to filter back into the region.

Oh that’ll more than get the job done. (Pivotal Weather)

Things look to stay dry and mostly sunny through Monday, Tuesday and evening Wednesday. Highs are back into the middle and even perhaps upper 60s! Dry air will keep lows into the upper 30s to lower 40s.

We’ll try to sneak a shower or two back toward the second half of next week, but the models start to get murky past that point.

That’s it for me for now! You can always keep up with the latest on all of our social media platforms. Have a tremendous day and a great weekend!
