After a nice and rainy start to the week in WABBLES, things have finally taken a turn for the fall. And that continues as we spend the weekend gently warming up.
Fine Autumn Evening: Friday and Friday Night
High pressure from the north continues to be in control of our weather as we continue our march into the weekend.

That means that we will continue to see pleasant sunshine and warm (for early Autumn) temperatures as we head into the afternoon.

Highs are back into the lower to middle 70s on another beautifully sunny afternoon. Just immaculate vibes out there for the afternoon.

We’re back to awesomely autumnal nighttime weather as the sun sets. Clear skies will allow lows to fall back into lower 40s throughout much of the WABBLES region.
Steadily Climbing: Saturday and Sunday
We open our Saturday up as we finished our Friday night: clear, crisp, and positively autumnal.

That’s the result of high pressure that’s built in from the north sticking around as we get the day started. A weak disturbance will try to glide on in through the early part of the day, but the air is so dry I think we’ll only see some clouds out of it.
As the sun rises and temperatures slowly climb, we’ll also watch as a ridge of high pressure across the plains states begins to win out. That will slowly start increasing our temperatures.

Abundant afternoon sunshine should allow highs to get up into the middle 70s or so. A perfect Saturday to get anything you need to do outside done. Clean up the yard, spruce up the hedges, break out the giant inflatable lawn ornaments.

Clear skies will once again allow overnight lows to fall back into the middle and upper 40s. Still pleasantly crisp, but a couple of notches ahead of where we finished the past couple of nights.
If you couldn’t make it out into the yard on Saturday, Sunday will provide another great opportunity for anything you might need to do…or any indoor chores you want to avoid.

A building ridge from the southwest will remain in place, as will the dry air from the past couple of days, and you know what that means!

Highs will stay comfortable to a little around the warm side. Plentiful sunshine will have highs back into the middle 70s, perhaps upper 70s in some spots. Either way, no big weather worries to close out the weekend. Overnight lows are not quite as crisp as the past couple of nights, but still seasonably cool. Clear skies will have us back down into the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Warming Up…and Changing it Up: Into Next Week
The pattern continues to look rather stuck in neutral as we work through the early parts of next week. High pressure building in from the southwest looks to keep us dry and warm to start the week. However, models are hinting at perhaps another shot of cooler air later in the week.
For Monday, though, we’ll keep on keeping on.

High pressure stays in control, bringing us plenty of sunshine along with gradually building warmth.

Highs will creep back up into the upper 70s to back near 80º as we head into our Monday afternoon. We certainly won’t have to worry about creeping humidity or anything like that, but that will run us a few degrees above average.
Overnight lows will moderate a touch as well, with lows only falling into the lower 50s…perhaps we could squeeze out some upper 40s in more sheltered locations.

It’s rinse and repeat on Tuesday as southerly flow from high pressure continues to warm up temperatures to compliment the outstanding sunshine. Highs are back near 80º.
Things will generally stay that way toward Wednesday, however, we’ll be watching our next disturbance that could bring us a chance at more showers for late Wednesday and into Thursday along with at least an attempt at some cooler weather.

That also portends perhaps a more active pattern as we head toward the end of the month, with more warmups and periodic cold fronts that will continue to slowly but surely usher in fall. One step at a time, especially during spooky season.
That’s it for me for now! You can always keep up with the latest on all of our social media platforms. Have a tremendous day and a great weekend!
