Good Monday morning, WABBLES! We are finally switching it up, as our stagnant weather pattern diminishes. That fall-like weather will be arriving soon this week, but we, unfortunately, have to get through some nastiness first. From umbrellas to hoodies, WABBLES is preparing for a soggy, then crisp and cool work week. Let’s go ahead and dive into the details of this week!

Time to gear up. (Giphy)

Today’s Forecast

High pressure off the Atlantic is causing moist winds from the southeast to spew into the WABBLES region. This influx of moisture from the Gulf will raise our dewpoints again and enhance the development of scattered showers this morning. These rain showers will continue throughout the day and won’t be anything too severe, but expect some stray rumblings of thunder, heavy downpours, and localized flooding.

Some rain showers begin to pop up mid-morning. (Pivotal Weather)

With increased cloud cover and rainfall, high temperatures will only reach up into the upper 70s to low 80s this afternoon. However, increased humidity across the region will make it feel very muggy again.

Don’t let those mid-70s fool you; it’s still going to feel humid out. (Pivotal Weather)

Scattered rainstorms will continue to move across the region as we head into the overnight hours, and low temperatures are set to fall back into the upper 60s to lower 70s

A cold front continues to move into the region on Tuesday and will start to organize those rainstorms into a larger and widespread band of rain. This prolonged rainfall can lead to some areas receiving 1-2 inches, with some localized flooding possible across WABBLES.

Storms become more congealed throughout Tuesday as the front moves through. (Pivotal Weather)

Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to upper 70s on Tuesday, with humidity remaining in place. The line of rainfall continues to move through the region on Tuesday afternoon, before finally moving out overnight.

Welcoming in the cool

Once we get past Monday and Tuesday’s soggy setup, things start to look more pleasant. As the cold front exits the region, we’re welcoming back winds from the northwest that will bring in that cool and crisp fall-like air.

Wednesday is shaping up to be a pleasant, mostly sunny day with high temperatures teetering on the 60/70 degree mark and low dewpoints in the 40s. Overnight lows fall into the lower 50s to upper 40s, so be sure to grab that jacket as you walk out the door Thursday morning!

So keep those umbrellas close, as we still have to get through today and tomorrow’s dreary weather before we see that fall-like weather return. Don’t forget to follow our social media to stay informed about the current weather! Stay cool out there, WABBLES!
