WABBLES continues to bake under a dry and warm pattern, even as we’ve flipped the calendar to October. There are hints of changes ahead, but they’re few and far between.
Just Keep Swimming: Friday and Friday Night
The weather pattern has been as stagnant as the water you left in the kiddie pool a couple of weekends ago.

High pressure remains stuck in place over the region through the end of the work week and into the weekend. That leads to more sunshine and yet more warm weather in place as we head into our Friday afternoon.

We should be in the upper 70s to near 80º for highs this time of year, and Mother Nature should keep us close to that heading into the afternoon. Highs should get up into the lower 80s yet again, with perhaps a few passing clouds in the afternoon and evening. However, dry air will remain in place, so it should be a comfortable lower 80s as opposed to an early summer low 80s.

Heading into the evening, things will cool nicely through the 70s and into the 60s as we head out for yet another evening of high school football. After the games, we’ll head back down into the lower 60s and upper 50s as we head right into the weekend.
More of the Same: Saturday and Sunday
That ridge of high pressure continues to dominate the forecast into the weekend, which should set us up for another warm and sunny Saturday.

Sunshine and relatively dry air will allow temperatures, starting near 60º, warming quickly through the 70s in the afternoon, settling up into the lower 80s into the afternoon.

Dry air and clear skies overnight will have us back to the lower 60s and upper 50s for nighttime lows.
The next hint of a pattern shift comes our way as we finish up the weekend on Sunday.

Low pressure spinning up across the upper midwest and quickly runs into Canada heading into the early part of next week. This will start to take over the pattern, from a northeasterly wind direction late this work week to a more southerly return flow pattern by Sunday.

Sensible impacts on Sunday will be negligible, keeping things on the warm and sunny side, but also ticking the humidity up a tad thanks to moisture streaming in from the gulf coast.
Highs will remain in the lower to middle 80s during the day on Sunday thanks to abundant sunshine. Potentially filtered sunshine, but sunshine nonetheless. Dew points may potentially climb up from the upper 50s into the lower 60s. Enough to feel it, but not enough to be overwhelmed.
That slightly more muggy air won’t allow us to fall quite as much as we have the past few nights, with lows falling back closer to the middle 60s than the lower 60s.
Perhaps Some Rain?: Into Next Week
The pattern continues to shift as we head into the first full week of October.

High pressure that dominated us to finish the work week will continue to shift off to the east as we head into Monday or Tuesday. That, combined with an advancing cold front from the upper midwest will continue to pump warmer and more moist air into the region.

Since the front is far enough away, I think the bulk of our Monday will stay dry, though. I can’t rule out a shower or two, but most of us will be unable to take advantage of any skyfalling liquid. Highs are back into the middle 80s.
We’ll continue to track that front heading in our direction toward midweek. However, any impacts are going to depend on just what angle that front takes on its way in here, as well as how much moisture it’s able to scoop up and form into showers and storms.
If we can manage to avoid clouds and rain Tuesday and into Wednesday, we’ll enjoy more slightly humid afternoons with highs back into the lower to middle 80s. We may try to sink back into the upper 70s to lower 80s behind the front heading into the later part of the week.
That’s it for me for now! You can always keep up with the latest on all of our social media platforms. Have a tremendous day and a great weekend!
