Good Monday morning, WABBLES! I hope you have been staying cool this past weekend, because this heat is not letting up anytime soon. The entirety of WABBLES is under a Heat Advisory until Tuesday night, as those temperatures keep rising and heat indices surpass the 100-degree mark. We are in store for more hot and humid days this week, but rain chances increase towards the end of the week!

Today’s Forecast
We sure aren’t shying away from the low 90s today, and with dewpoints climbing into the mid-70s, we’re looking at another sweltering afternoon. However, some of WABBLES might get lucky and get a quick downpour this afternoon. These brief, isolated showers that develop from daytime heating may offer temporary relief, but they won’t break the overall heat pattern. As we head into the overnight hours, temperatures will still be warm with lows in the lower 70s.

Will it ever end?
Not anytime soon, unfortunately, as we are under a broad high-pressure system that keeps the heat locked in. The rest of the week will be the same as it has been: highs in the mid-90s with heat indices of 100-105! The good news is we are looking at the chance for another system to move through towards the end of the week. We could see a more organized setup for some more rain showers, which could help relieve us from the heat.

Remember, heat-related illness can escalate quickly, especially with high humidity. The heat is no joke, so it’s essential to stay cool during the summertime. Try to limit your time in the sun, and always stay hydrated!

As always, don’t forget to stay weather aware with this heat wave and summertime storms. You can follow our social media to stay updated on the current weather. That is about all from me, so stay cool out there, WABBLES!
