Summertime storminess has been the name of the game this week so far around WABBLES. However, as Mother Nature officially turns the page to summertime, the weather will seemingly cooperate.
Getting Sizzly: Friday and Friday Night
We are settling into a more summerlike pattern as we head into the weekend, thanks to a big ol’ ridge of high pressure building into the eastern half of the country.

For us, this means a nice break from the seemingly incessant storm chances, but it does mean that we’ll be dealing with sizzling heat.

Sunshine will be more than abundant as we head through the day, which will help highs soar up into the middle and upper 80s. Dew points will also be well into the 60s, to near 70º…so it’s not just the heat, it’s the humidity.

It’s officially heat precaution season, so make sure that if you’re outside, you’re wearing sunscreen and/or light, loose-fitting clothing. If you’re working, take frequent breaks in the shade and drink plenty of water.
Evenings will be muggy and warm, but dry. Partly to mostly clear skies overnight will allow temperatures to fall to near 70º or so.
Keeping it Sizzly: Saturday and Sunday
More of the same as we head into what looks to be a superb pool and lake weekend around the region as our ridge of high pressure continues to bake much of the central portion of the country.

Saturday looks to be a day to slather on the sunscreen as highs yet again make a run for the 90º mark, if not a couple of degrees past as we head on into the afternoon hours.

The sizzling summer heat will only be exacerbated, yet again, by dew points firmly ensconced within the lower 70s. That will mean feels like temperatures in the middle to even upper 90s a possibility during peak heating…and I can’t rule out someone’s heat index briefly eclipsing the century mark.

Ain’t no rest for the A/C as we head into the overnight hours. Clear skies keep lows only in the middle 70s as we head to sleep. Carbon copy looks to be in store for the day on Sunday.

Well, that’s not entirely true, because I think the possibility is there that we will be hotter on Sunday, by at least a few degrees.

The issue here is that we’ll be several days in a row without rain by that point, and we’ll be drying out even our lushest, greenest vegetation. That will help boost temperatures back into the lower to middle 90s. Dew points again stay in the lower to even middle 70s, which means heat indices should push 100º yet again.

Those cool thoughts should be all we have keeping us cool overnight, as low temperatures only settle back into the middle 70s because of the oppressive humidity we will continue to deal with.
Summer’s Here and She’s Put it in Park: Into Next Week
We’ll try to switch things up a little bit as we head into next week, but now that the summertime pattern has taken over the region, it’s going to take quite a bit to shake it.
The heat dome stays in place on Monday, which should keep highs yet again in the lower to middle 90s, even as the core of the heat tries to push slightly east. Heat indices again peak around a hundred (100º in Arabic numerals, I just wanted the alliteration).
We may try to sneak some spotty heat-of-the-day popcorn showers and storms back in the forecast as we work into the middle and end of the week, but I don’t see any big sweeping systems that will cool us down any time soon.

That’s it for me for now! You can always keep up with the latest on all of our social media platforms. Have a tremendous day and a great weekend!
