Good Monday morning, WABBLES! After a soggy weekend, we are still not out of the woods yet. A boundary has stalled along Kentucky, causing more pesky showers to develop across the region this afternoon. WABBLES is under a flood watch starting at 11 A.M., as some of these downpours could cause localized flooding. Once this rain moves out of the area, we’ll start to gradually warm up as we go through the week. But don’t put those umbrellas up just yet; more rain is on the way mid-week!

Today’s Forecast

Similarly to the past couple of days, showers and storms will begin to bubble up along the stalled boundary this afternoon. Severe potential is low with these rainstorms; however, WABBLES can still expect some heavy downpours and gusty winds with these. Because today’s rainstorms are expected to be more organized than those over the weekend, they may linger into the evening and even overnight.

Showers and storms will develop this afternoon and will continue into Tuesday morning. (Pivotal Weather)

Temperatures will warm back into the mid-80s for today before lowering back into the lower 70s overnight. With dewpoints being in the 70s today, it will make for another humid day across WABBLES.

More Rain on the Menu

While this boundary finally moves out of the region on Tuesday, we’ll be bombarded with another system moving in from the northwest by Thursday, increasing our rain chances once more. In the meantime, we’ll be staying warm and muggy as we are brought more and more moist air.

Another low-pressure system to our north will bring in a line of rain and storms on Thursday. (Pivotal Weather)

We’ll finally start to dry out towards the end of the week, as another high-pressure system and upper-level ridge move in. However, this means much warmer air is on the way. The Climate Prediction Center is forecasting above-average temperatures for WABBLES heading into next week as we start to see the wrath of June.

Don’t be surprised to see those temperatures climb into the 90s starting next week! (CPC)
