Good Monday morning, WABBLES! We’re starting the week off strong as a round of heavy rain and storms roll into the region this morning from an incoming cold front. But by tomorrow, things will start to clear up again, and we’ll stay dry for a couple of days. We’ll unfold the details in this blog, so let’s go ahead and dive in!

Today’s Forecast

As mentioned before, a cold front will be pushing into the region soon, causing a line of storms to fire up this morning. The Storm Prediction Center has some parts of WABBLES under a slight (2/5) risk for severe weather, while the rest of us are under a marginal (1/5) risk. The biggest threat with these storms will be damaging winds, along with the potential for some flash flooding; these storm cells could quickly drop heavy amounts of rain.

A line of heavy rain and storms will move into WABBLES in the late morning and will continue into the afternoon. (Pivotal Weather)

Once this line passes through, we’ll be left with some calmer weather and a more breezy, northwesterly flow. We’ll be warming back into the upper 70s and lower 80s today before cooling down into the lower 60s overnight.

Clearer Skies Ahead, but for how long?

Once this system exits the WABBLES region, some high pressure will start to settle in. This means sunny skies and calm conditions are coming our way again!  Temperatures stay slightly cooler after this front pushes through, before climbing back into the 80s on Wednesday.

WABBLES will start cooler on Tuesday before warming back into the mid-80s on Wednesday and Thursday. (Pivotal Weather)

Of course, these calmer conditions won’t last too long in the summertime. Another disturbance is expected to impact the WABBLES area towards the end of the week, bringing back the chance for some rain. We’ll get more into the details as the week goes on, but for now, enjoy the nice weather after today!
