We around WABBLES remain in the middle of one of the most active weather periods in recent memory, and that means that we still have several days to go with severe weather and flooding threats.

Flooding Continues: Friday and Saturday

Data has continued to suggest the potential for a bit of a break as we head through the day on Friday, which will be much needed.

However, things will stay very warm and humid as showers and storms remain scattered throughout the region. Highs should get back up into the middle to upper 70s yet again, especially if we are able to run into any sunshine.

Even so, I don’t think we’re looking at too much sunshine throughout the region, and scattered showers and storms will quickly move back into the region. We’re going to have to continue to watch areas of extremely heavy rain along with those thunderstorms.

It will continue to feel absolutely summer-like outside thanks to the humidity hanging around in the air. Overnight lows only make it down into the upper 60s to near 70º or so.

We finally should try to break out of this weather pattern on Saturday…but before we do, we’ll likely see the last push of heavy rain and strong storms through the region.

The stalled front, which has served as the focusing mechanism for showers and storms through the entire back half of the week should finally get a push off to the east as another area of low pressure forms along it.

Models have been having a hard time keying in on where that low forms, but most keep it to the south. (Pivotal Weather)

As it does, we’ll see temperatures warm back into the upper 70s to near 80º. We’ll also see wind energy that looks to be just enough to perhaps give the storms a little bit of oomph as they push into the region again later on Saturday.

Please, I am tired of storms. (Pivotal Weather)

While we may see some gusty winds, hailstones, and perhaps a brief spin-up tornado…this still looks to be nothing like what worked through the region on Wednesday night. Once this low picks up this front and sweeps it out of the region, we are done, baby.

Overnight lows are back down into the middle 50s as the showers start to push east.

Calming Down: Sunday into Next Week

After one of the busiest weeks of the decade so far, quite frankly, we are finally easing back into a bit more of a quiet pattern as we head into Sunday and next week.

Rain showers may linger on the back side of our front during the day on Sunday…not helpful for our flooding threat, but a sign of better things ahead for us as we head into the second week of April.

High pressure should build back into the region as we head into the day on Monday, and this is more Canadian high pressure.

How Canadian? This Canadian. (Giphy)

This will lead to much cooler air filtering into WABBLES as we see sunshine make a triumphant and welcome return to the sky. We’ll keep cooler air in the region through Monday and Tuesday, with highs on Monday in the upper 50s to near 60º, but highs on Tuesday back into the lower to middle 50s. We’ll even have to watch out for frost overnight as lows settle back to near freezing!

YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE DONE WITH HIM, DIDN’T YOU? (Fox / Giphy)

We’ll try to moderate temperatures back into the 60s midweek as we watch a northwest flow pattern try to throw a few chilly showers our way toward the latter half of the week. It may be cool, but it sure beats tornadoes and flooding!

That’s it for me for now! You can always keep up with the latest on all of our social media platforms. Have a tremendous day and a great weekend!
