Happy Tuesday to all of my friends out there across the WABBLES region. I hope the start of the work week has gone well for everyone and that everyone is staying cool out there. We look to have relief for the heat as well as the fry conditions coming up this week.
Current Conditions
It certainly doesn’t take a meteorologist to tell people that it is getting pretty dry out there across WABBLES. Luckily, though, no part of the state has reached drought conditions yet. These rain chances should help keep us out of the drought spotlight for a while longer.
Rain on the Way
The biggest weather to talk about today are the upcoming rain chances. Our first event comes tomorrow morning into the afternoon as a cold front pushes some activity into WABBLES from the north.
This is not looking to be a washout by any means, in fact, this looks to be fairly scattered and light. Light rain is what we want to fix dry conditions, but for longer and with higher amounts than what is expected. Amounts may barely be over a trace for most across WABBLES.
Our next chance for rain comes this weekend, most likely around Sunday, as a more organized low pressure system swings through WABBLES. More organized compared to Wednesday’s cold front that is, but still on the weaker side.
Nevertheless, rain totals over .25” are possible from what model guidance is suggesting so far. We just need to hope that the rain remains lighter and not turn into a quick downpour, that will do nothing to help the dry conditions.
Relief from the Heat
As mentioned earlier, Wednesday’s rain chances will be brought by a cold front, but albeit rather weak and only keeping temperatures a few degrees cooler than previous days. Highs in the low 80s Wednesday into Friday will be likely.
Another cold front will be moving through WABBLES with the rain chances Sunday, but again, it looks to be on the weaker side and only reducing temperatures to the lower 80s compared to the upper 80s.
Perhaps the biggest relief from the heat will be in the form of drier air falling in behind the cold front Wednesday. While highs remain in the 80s, dewpoints in the 40s and 50s will keep things feeling less humid and therefore slightly cooler.
That will be it for this blog folks! I hope everyone is having a great day so far and that everyone is enjoying the new website. We will be keeping our eyes focused on our rain chances this week so check back tomorrow for more updates.
Have a blessed day!
