Good Monday morning, WABBLES! We’ve got a positively gorgeous week of weather ahead for nearly everyone across the region, despite the autumn chill that’s crept into our area overnight. Scattered cloud cover will transition to sunny skies as we go through the work week, with cooler temperatures and no significant precipitation expected for the next several days. But how chilly will things get? And are we truly finished with summer here in WABBLES? We’re going through it all together in today’s weather blog!
Today’s Forecast
As mentioned previously, our wonderful WABBLES has some perfect autumn weather in store over the next several days. That wonderful forecast begins today, as most across the region will see high temperatures in the lower-60s after some early morning cloud cover gives way to mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. Winds for everyone will be a bit breezy, but several could see some gusts of up to 20-25 mph, advecting more of that chillier air in from the northwest. Tonight, temperatures will dip significantly across the region, with most seeing lows in the mid-40s as clear skies set the stage for possible patchy frost development overnight.
Do We Stay Chilly?
That we do! Looking ahead to the rest of the week, we’ll continue to maintain that crisp, cool fall atmosphere here locally. On Wednesday morning, some could see areas of frost as overnight low temperatures will push into the low to mid-30s, but sunny skies in the daytime will raise those afternoon highs back into the low-60s. Thursday will be similar, with another frost risk early but warming up to much more pleasant mid-60s under sunny skies. We’ll continue this trend of clear, sunny weather in the daytime combined with much chiller temperatures in the overnight through the weekend, making for a beautiful fall week ahead!
As far as any weather-making systems go, WABBLES will stay bone-dry thanks to an area of surface high pressure that’s pushed in behind the cold front that’s brought us all this much chillier weather. With no upper-level disturbances around to knock that high pressure out of the way, the Climate Prediction Center has firmly decided that we’ll be quite a bit drier than average here locally over the next 6 to 10 days.
That’s about all we’ve got for you today, WABBLES! If you’re heading out early this week, be sure to dress warmly, especially in the mornings when we’re expecting to see some frost. It’s time to put the summer attire away for good and dust off those cooler-weather jackets, because the autumn chill has arrived in WABBLES and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon! Stay warm, stay safe, and we’ll see you later folks. Take care!
