Good morning and happy Monday, WABBLES! We’ve had a long and exhausting weekend full of foul weather, but winter’s chill has finally returned to our area. High pressure and frigid temperatures will start off the week, and the following high pressure will keep skies clear and dry all the way through Friday. When will milder temperatures return? And how long will we stay dry? Let’s go through it together in today’s weather blog!
Today’s Forecast
Most of WABBLES should expect to be much, MUCH colder today and tomorrow than it has been in recent days. The cold front behind all the severe weather we experienced Saturday has pushed its way into the region in earnest, keeping us in the mid-40s for highs today, and dipping all the way into the high-20s for lows after sundown. The good news is that no strong winds will be present to drive those feels-like temperatures any lower than they already are; but if you must be outside today, dress appropriately to combat that freezing chill!
Do We Stay Chilly?
For most of this week, yes! It seems like winter has finally come to stay, though we will see slightly milder temperatures return tomorrow. Instead of highs in the mid-40s, expect to see closer to the mid-50s as we move throughout the rest of the week, though our lows will still dip down into below-freezing territory overnight. Once again, we’ll remain high and dry as a strong region of high pressure pushes in and lingers this week, so no need to worry about additional precipitation or any severe weather. Just stay bundled up, keep warm, and try to get into that holiday spirit as we continue that Christmas Creep!
That’s all we have for you today, WABBLES! To those who may be reading and were affected by this weekend’s tornadoes in Logan and Warren counties, we’re thinking of you during this difficult time. Dealing with the fallout of severe weather is never easy, and especially not after what we experienced as a community in 2021. We’ll be here with you every step of the way as you recover, so make sure to keep up with the daily blogs and our frequent updates over on Twitter if you’d like to stay as weather-aware as possible! Stay safe out there!
