Good Monday morning WABBLES, and happy last day of July! We’re talking all about heat relief today as some northwest flow moves into the region, keeping us cooler as we start August. A local area of high pressure will be the key to keeping us dry, and lower dew points will aid in making it just a little less sticky outside. With how stifling it has been over the last several days, this brief reprieve will surely come as a treat to those who are sick of trying to bake bread in their mailboxes… LOL. We’ll dive into it together in today’s weather blog!
Today’s Forecast
Our anticipated relief will come in the form of high-80s, as most of us will likely see our high temperature top out at around 89 degrees today. Bright sunshine will keep things warm but not completely scalding, with cloud coverage increasing throughout the day and into the evening hours. Once the sun goes down we’ll be cooling down to some comfortable mid-60s, but expect to see those warmer temps linger until dusk. If you’re spending any amount of time outside today, whether for work or personal reasons, still make sure to take precautions against heatstroke and sunburn by packing some extra water and applying sunblock!
How long will the relief last?
Good question! Most of us will be pleased to hear that the WABBLES region isn’t expecting to see temperatures return to the low-to-mid-90s for the next five days, or at least through Friday evening. In the same vein, significant precipitation also isn’t expected until around Wednesday afternoon when more moisture works its way into our region. However, we feel it’s important to state that our foul weather models are very wishy-washy when it comes to summer storm convection, so it’s still probably a good idea to keep an umbrella handy as you go about your week!
Anything ELse?
Not really! As long as we’re keeping hydrated and staying out of the way of too many UV rays, we’ll be perfectly fine for the next several days. The temperatures will return to more normal summery heat instead of cooking-food-outdoors heat, at least until our rain chances move out this weekend, so maybe get some use out of those inflatable pools and slip-‘n-slides this week! No matter what, we’ll be here to walk you through the forecast every morning with a brand-new blog so that you’re up to date on the latest info right when you wake up each morning. Until tomorrow, take care out there WABBLES, and enjoy the last day of July!
