Good Memorial Day morning, WABBLES! It’s another chilly start to the morning today as we seem to have taken a step backward from summer. We’re in for a steady temperature pattern this week, with low temperatures in the 50s to 60s and highs remaining in the 70s. Rain chances increase this week, as a low-pressure system brings some weather into the WABBLES region. But without further ado, let’s go ahead and dive into the details of this week!

Let’s dig in! (Giphy)

Today’s Forecast

Fortunately, the rain will hold off until later tonight so that you can enjoy your Memorial Day holiday! Temperatures will warm back into the mid-70s, and skies will be mostly sunny. However, a wave of rain will move into the region this evening as a warm front moves northward. It will be nothing severe, though, just some moderate rainfall and the occasional rumbles of thunder.

WABBLES will stay fairly dry until this evening when those showers roll in. (Pivotal Weather)

Rain Continues, but for how long?

Rain showers will continue Monday night into Tuesday as that low-pressure system also pulls a cold front into WABBLES. Some of these storms could be on the stronger side, but nothing very severe. Skies will begin to clear a bit on Wednesday, but still a chance of rain lingers as the tail end of the system moves eastward and out of the area. Scattered showers are expected Thursday through Friday, followed by some drier, warmer weather going into the weekend.

Parts of WABBLES could see quite a bit of rain accumulation from this system in the first half of the week. 1.5″ to 2.5″ of rain is likely throughout the region, with locally totals even higher.

Keep in mind, these rain totals could vary across the region. (Pivotal Weather)

Enjoy this rain while it lasts, though, because we will soon be falling into a drier pattern. The Climate Prediction Center has WABBLES quite below average in expected precipitation within the next 6-10 days.
