Good Tuesday morning, WABBLES! Get ready for an active week as a low-pressure system to our south continues to bring in scattered showers and storms. Even warmer temperatures are on the way, along with the potential for some severe weather later this week. But without further ado, let’s dive into the details of the week!

Let’s dive in! (Giphy)
Today’s Forecast
As that low-pressure center continues to move northeastward into our region today, we can expect to see a similar pattern as yesterday. Temperatures will warm back up into the mid-70s across the area. Scattered showers and storms will start to develop this afternoon due to some of that daytime heating, but won’t be much on the severe side. As we head into the overnight hours, we’ll cool back down into the lower 60s.

Temperatures are on the rise
On Wednesday, the low-pressure system will pull out of the region, but we’ll still be left with some lingering showers and storms. Winds from the southwest will start to bring in warmer air for Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s, with some of WABBLES not shying away from reaching into the 90s! Dewpoints peeking into the 70s will make for an uncomfortable and muggy couple of days.

These sweltering temperatures won’t last too long, though, as another low-pressure system from the northwest will soon bring a cold front into the region. However, those warm temperatures and the forcing of the cold front will cause some stronger storms to develop along the front Thursday night into Friday. The Storm Prediction Center currently has WABBLES under a marginal risk (1/5) for severe weather on Thursday and a 15% risk on Friday.
