Good Tuesday morning, WABBLES! After a misty and cooler start to the week, we will finally see a little sunshine today as that stubborn low-pressure system exits the region. Kentucky is back at it when the spring swings, and this will surely not be the last. Rain chances increase later this week, as another system tries to make its way to the region. We will unfold all the details in this blog together, so let’s get started!

Let’s jump into it! (Giphy)

Today’s Forecast

We are still starting out this Tuesday morning with fairly chilly temperatures in the upper 40s, but with some sunshine finally peaking through today, temperatures will finally warm back up. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s, while some of WABBLES will peak into the low 70s. Skies will remain mostly sunny throughout the day, with a slight breeze from the west.

Rainy Weather Returns

As mentioned before, we are in for another rainy disturbance later this week. Temperatures will remain warm this week, with highs staying around the 70s. However, that also means scattered rain showers can be expected to enter the WABBLES region Wednesday into Thursday. Other than the occasional shower, skies will remain mostly cloudy to sunny this week.

Enjoy this rain while it lasts, though, because we will be seeing some slightly drier weather return starting next week as we settle into a calmer weather pattern. The Climate Prediction Center has the WABBLES region below average for precipitation in their 6 to 10 day outlook. Temperatures, however, will be slightly above their normal May average.

So keep those umbrellas close this week as rain showers come and go. Even though we are in a less active weather pattern at the moment, it is still important to remain weather aware as we continue through Kentucky’s fluctuating weather.
