Good morning, WABBLES! I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather these past couple of days, as we are finally in the beginning stages of spring. This week will remain sunny and warm for the most part, with a couple of minor disturbances within the week; what would spring be without a stormy interruption to our beautiful weather? With that in mind, we are watching a storm that will arrive later this weekend. We will get more into the details during this blog, so let’s get started!

Let’s get into it! (Giphy)

TODAYS FORECAST

Prepare for another beautiful day across the WABBLES region with clear skies and highs in the lower 70s. With some high pressure sitting over WABBLES providing this calmer weather, winds will be light from the southwest, which will help us stay warm. Tonight, the clear skies will dip temperatures back down into the mid-40s, where they will begin to climb again after sunrise on Wednesday.

We will soon see another warm-up today! (Pivotal Weather)

ACTIVITY LATER THIS WEEK

As mentioned before, a small interruption to this week’s clear weather streak is inevitable. We’ll continue to see sunny skies until Thursday afternoon, when a couple of rain showers may sneak into the WABBLES region. But fear not; these showers won’t lower our daily temperatures. We’ll still see temperatures rise again to the upper 70s by the end of the week!

With that being said, this warmer air is energy for a bigger storm that we are watching this weekend. As another low-pressure system begins to develop over the Great Plains this week, we will be seeing the potential for some severe weather in the WABBLES region. As this system progresses eastward, we can expect to see some more gusty winds Friday afternoon, along with a line of heavy rain and storms that will push into the area late Friday night. As we continue through the week, the details of this storm will become more apparent, but for now, the Storm Prediction Center has us under a 15-29% risk for severe weather this weekend.
