WABBLES, we have quite the forecast for you on this day before Halloween! The question of the day becomes will this forecast be a trick or a treat in your plans for your activities. We will see some beautiful weather and a chance for some rain showers to soak your spooky costumes. This rain will also bring a bit of a cool down as we head into November. Stick around so this forecast doesn’t give you a jump scare as you make holiday plans.
Today Forecast
Well folks, today’s forecast is a bit of a treat. While that cold front slowly works its way across the plains, we will enjoy another day of warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine. As we move into the afternoon, highs will be well above-average for this time of year, topping out in the low to mid 80s.
If you’re headed to Western Kentucky University for the big FloRida concert before the football game tonight, be sure to soak up all the sunshine as we prepare for what’s ahead.
As you start your nightly activities, temperatures will drop into the upper 60’s. Tomorrow, however, we’ll start to see the effects of that approaching front as wind gust may reach between 20-25 mph, so hang on to those pillowcases!
Where’s the trick
As we move into the Halloween holiday, to start off the day, we’ll see highs in the upper 70’s, similar to today. Don’t get caught off guard, with hit & miss showers possible as early as sunrise. As it the front closes in and eventually passes, there will be chances for lightning, along with wind gusts on the magnitude of 30-40+ mph.
Rain chances are likely to continue throughout the night after the main line of rain/storms pass. With that being said, according to the Storm Prediction Center, there is no severe risk on Halloween.
As previously mentioned, wind gusts may exceed 30-40 mph at times, so plan accordingly as you make those Halloween plans. Keep an eye on the forecast for updates on the timing of those storms, keeping yourself and the kiddos safe during peak trick-or-treating, should the weather cooperate.
WABBLES will be set up for a cooler feel as we enter the start of November. Don’t let this Halloween trick deceive you, because above-average temps will be making a return, awaiting right around the corner.
One positive to take away from this system is that we’ll finally be bringing an end to a very dry spell that we’ve been experiencing. The Climate Prediction Center has us a little wetter than normal as we move into the next week.
Alright WABBLES, that’s it for today. As we get closer to Halloween, make sure you have a plan to stay safe if storms do occur. We’ll do our job of keeping you updated as storms progress.
