If you’re confused about what season we’re in, you’re not alone. This weather has us in a state of delusion and will continue to do so over the next few days. Let’s watch how the WABBLES shield holds back cooler temperatures in today’s blog.

When you see temperatures may push 90 in April with a pop-up storm (Tenor).

Today’s Weather

Today we’ve got one of those days you have to gamble on the rain shower chance. Before we get to that point, we are looking at another beautiful day. Temperatures today continue their summer delusion, with southwesterly flow taking our temperatures up to the mid to upper 80’s. If you were wondering what this southwesterly flow looks like today, we’re looking at gusts between 20-25mph.

Southwesterly flow is going to carry those temperatures today (COD).

If you wanted to bet on today’s rain chance with Kalshi, you can have fun with that. We’ve got a slight chance for a scattered storm this afternoon, but the main thunderstorm risk is well to our north. Tonight, things clear out as winds continue to push southwesterly flow into the area.

A pop-up storm is possible later today (COD).

How Long can the delusion hold

Thursday, we hold on to this precious forecast. Temperatures on Thursday will be a rinse and repeat of Wednesday, but some places very well could be very close to 90 degrees. We’ll start the day mostly sunny, but by the afternoon, we could see some mid-level cloud development that would pass through the area. Our rain chance for Thursday has also left the room, but the winds have not; we will continue to see wind gusts between 20-25 mph with some possible above 30 mph.

Above-average temperatures keep the delusion going (COD).

Thursday night, we bring back the thunderstorm chance. Western portions of WABBLES are under a 1/5 marginal risk for strong to severe storms associated with the cold front. These storms look to significantly weaken by the time they reach even the most western portions of Butler County that are situated in the outlook. The Storm Prediction Center does have damaging wind gusts and tornadoes as the listed hazards.

Storms fall apart as they make it to WABBLES (COD).

That cold front that helped to initiate those storms will lift northward as it moves across the Great Lakes region. This will keep it from wiping out our temperatures just yet. Our high for Friday will once again be pushing the mid to upper 80’s, and you may feel a little more mugginess with our dewpoints reaching the mid 60’s. We will see a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day on Friday.

Scattered showers and storms ahead of the front (COD).

Looking at our weekend, if you’re enjoying temperatures feeling like summer, you’re going to want to soak it all in on Saturday. We won’t get lucky twice when it comes to the cold fronts, and this next one will bring us back to average. We may see some scattered showers ahead of the front, but our main chance of rain comes late Saturday afternoon and into the evening.

Can’t get luck twice when it comes to cold fronts (COD).

WABBLES, I know this forecast is feeding into the delusion that it is summertime, but remember Mother Nature will humble us, and we will see that this weekend. Enjoy the wonderful temperatures over the next few days as you dodge the occasional pop-up storm using our Twitter to help you. Have a great rest of your week!
