A Rainy Weekend Ahead

Happy Saturday Morning my friends around WABBLES! We don’t have a whole lot to talk about, but I hope everyone is ready for a great, but potentially rainy weekend ahead.

It’s finally the weekend! (GIPHY)

Today & Sunday

The main headline for this weekend will be a weak system moving through and bringing scattered rain chances for the area. Starting this evening and lasting until Sunday night, we can expect on and off again scattered showers across WABBLES. A rainy weekend ahead, my friends.

Rain totals should be on the lower side of around or lower than .25″, so this overall isn’t anything to be super worried about. However, we will still have a rainy weekend ahead.

In terms of temperatures this weekend, today will feature highs in the mid-40s and Sunday will start out very similarly but featuring temperatures cooling gradually to the mid-upper-30s as the cold front from the system moves through WABBLES. So, we have some cooler temps with a rainy weekend ahead

Long Range

Looking into the longer range forecast, there are a couple of dates to keep an eye on for potentially impactful weather systems across WABBLES. First up, looking at the PNA Teleconnection, we can see a rather sudden change in values from positive to slightly negative around the 13th to 15th of January. This would suggest the potential for a system passage right around that time.

Additionally, the timeframe of the 18th to the 20th of January looks like we could have another system passage. Unfortunately for snow lovers, currently the pattern that looks to be in place doesn’t look too conducive for snow, but these are still a few weeks away.

Speaking of the pattern, both the CPC’s 6-10 day and 8-14 day temperature outlooks feature high probabilities for the continuation of warmer than average temperatures. So, another outbreak of arctic air doesn’t look to be coming soon.

That will be all for this blog my friends! I hope everyone has a great and safe weekend out there, despite the chances for rain. As always our social media accounts will be linked below and I encourage everyone to visit them for the mist up to date information.

Have a blessed day!
