Good Monday morning, everyone! Welcome to a new, but wet, day. From a meteorologists point-of-view, this is exciting because we finally have some action! But for everyone else, it’ll be more of an annoyance. Very unseasonable weather will kick off the week.

Monday’s Deluge
Long story short, today will be nothing short of wet. A very saturated system will swing through over the day today and bring lots of rain with it.
A warm front will roll through today that will bring the bulk of the rain, especially during the morning hours. There’s a chance we could catch a brief break during the evening hours before the cold front rolls through tonight. Right now totals are looking to end up around 2″ once it’s all said and done.

In addition with that warm front, we’re going to see very unseasonable temperatures for highs. Temps look to max out in the low 60’s! That’s more like early spring than the middle of winter!
Meteorologically speaking, this rain will do some good for us. Believe it or not, South-Central Kentucky is abnormally dry according to the US Drought Monitor. This rain should help knock that out.

Things should start to dry out during the overnight hours as lows drop back to seasonable temperatures in the mid 40’s.
Much Sunnier Tuesday, Snow on Wednesday
Conditions look to improve greatly on Tuesday as the progressive system quickly moves out. Sunny skies return and temperatures remain on the warmer side for late January in the mid 50’s. A beautiful day to get out after a rainy Monday!

Active weather looks to return come Wednesday as we see a chance for more showers and even some snow during the afternoon! Now that’s more like January.
