Drying Out to Finish the Weekend

After a soggy start to the weekend for most of us, it’s encouraging to see things trending in the other direction for a change since we’ll be drying out to finish the weekend.

Sun Fully Returns Sunday

The low pressure system that gave us the widespread clouds and showers earlier this week is moving on out of the area and northwesterly winds will be moving in behind it, offering the return of widespread sunny skies.

Things will start cloudy during the day today, and maybe a touch foggy as well, but as the system exits the region, the clouds will begin to part and sunshine should return during the afternoon hours.

Despite the sunshine, temperatures likely won’t move too much as we’ll top out somewhere near 52° this afternoon. We’ll cool nicely overnight as clouds continue to decrease, allowing temperatures to tumble to around 32° for a low.

Monday will feature abundant sunshine as what’s left of a dry boundary will give us a re-enforcing shot of cool, but not cold air. High pressure will settle in behind it and give us some pretty nice weather as we enter the homestretch into Christmas week.

With northwesterly winds in the area, we’ll achieve a high right around 50° for Monday afternoon with those ever-friendly sunny skies overhead. Hey, that may not sound “warm” but it’s right around where we should be for this time of year. Much the same overnight as clear skies will allow overnight lows to fall to around 30°.

Encore for Tuesday

Mother Nature must have hit the repeat button on the CD player because Tuesday will be very similar…if not identical to Monday afternoon. Right down to the average temperatures and the glorious sunshine.

High pressure will remain in control and that means highs again near 50° with mostly sunny skies throughout the day, cooling to around 30° at night. I’ll take it any day of the week.

Quick Peek Into the New Week

All good things must come to an end and the sunny weather is no exception as it looks like our next chance for rain looks to arrive around the midweek timeframe and stick with us through the weekend. What this means for the Christmas holiday weekend is still a bit murky, so you’re going to want to stick with us through the week for the latest.
