Hey folks! It certainly has been cloudy and rainy for what feels like forever. We had a brief break in the clouds on Tuesday, but those returned soon after. Luckily, we only one last dreary day in store for now!
Periodic Rain Today
The majority of us are waking up and heading out with rain falling right now. That has been ongoing all night, and most have picked up between 0.25 and 1″ of rain at this point. The heaviest rain fell to our southeast.

More rainfall is expected today, but it should be periodic. We look to have rain through mid-morning, then an hour break or so, with more rain moving in for the late morning hours. After that ends during the afternoon, some heavier precip is expected to move through with the front.

Higher-res guidance is suggesting we see anywhere from 0.25″ to 0.75″ more rainfall on top of what we already have. Remember, we are under a Flood Watch until 10 pm tonight.

Highs today may not be much higher than they are now. I’m expecting highs to get to around the mid 60s. The rain should move out later tonight, yielding cooler temperatures behind the cold front.
Pretty Nice Friday and Saturday
After the front moves through, much cooler temperatures will usher into our region.

That will be okay, though, because we won’t have continuous cloud cover. I am expecting partly sunny skies on Friday, but it won’t just be overcast like we have seen so much of this past week.

Temperatures will rise into the upper 50s for highs, which will set up a situation where plentiful cumulus clouds could and should form in the afternoon. It’ll just be nice and pretty!

Friday night should get really cold, though, as there will likely be clearing of any clouds at all. Couple of things with that: watch for areas of fog by Saturday morning, and prepare for patchy frost. I think lows get into the lower 30s.

Saturday looks pretty awesome. High clouds will be increasing quickly through the day, but gusty southwesterly flow will give us a warm day.

Expect to see gusts in the 20-30 mph range throughout the day on Saturday, and highs should end up in the mid 60s. There may be some light rainfall by Saturday evening associated with a cold front pushing in from the northwest.

It won’t be anything too heavy, so it shouldn’t ruin Saturday.
Well folks, that is all I have for ya! Y’all be sure to follow our real-time weather feed, @wxornotBG! Have a wonderful day!
