Surprisingly Calm Weather the Next Few Days

Yesterday’s Weather

The past couple days have been depressingly cold. It has been terrible! After what was essentially an entire week of 70s, we hit rock bottom the past two days, seeing lows that are actually normal for this time of year. Its weird, and yesterday was no different. It was just too cold.

Well, it is official: we have finally made it to the weekend! I’m as happy as anyone is, and I can assure you of that. This past week was exhausting for myself and others. But I am glad that we were able to make an impact in trying to make people safe during the severe weather this past week! We have stumbled upon a bit of a lull in the pattern right now, and that is extremely exciting. We deserve a break!

Today and tomorrow both will see a general warming trend, as a warm front moves to our north. Winds will shift to the south and southwest, leading to a nice ole warm up back into very unseasonably warm temps! I mean, you all know what southwesterly surface winds do…

Southwesterly flow is sometimes referred to as the "flamethrower" in meteorology because of the wild temperature rises it can cause. h/t

Expect temps to rise up into the low 60s today, and the upper 60s tomorrow. Without much atmospheric lift at all, we should see few clouds until tomorrow evening. I’m pretty excited for a sunny day that features actual warm temps (unlike yesterday).

The weather interest level goes from, “so bored I am falling asleep” to, “I just woke up but I’m still so bored” tomorrow evening, as a very weak disturbance in the atmosphere moves slowly to our south. This should come close enough to use to increase our clouds tomorrow afternoon and into the overnight hours.

Don’t worry; we shouldn’t see anything crazy. But this disturbance to our south may work together with large scale lift from another approaching system on Monday to create some showers during the day. Either way, a strong low will be developing to our northwest Monday, and will create some breezy conditions.

Don't enjoy the breeze too much. h/t

Oh, and it’ll be warm. That too. Highs should be in the 60s on Monday, but it’ll be cloudy, which kinda sucks.

Today’s Key Points

  • Boring weather the next couple of days
  • Warm up through the period
  • Sunny skies today and tomorrow
  • Clouds increase tomorrow night and showers are possible on Monday
  • Breezy on Monday
  • Storms Tuesday?
