Mother Nature saved the best day of the week for yesterday and left the scraps for the weekend…at least it will be somewhat mild?
We’ll start off with that high pressure that brought us both the cold conditions for Thursday and the fantastic weather for Friday continuing to slide away from the region, allowing a weak surface low to scoot by the region.
Thanks to the southwesterly winds from yesterday that will continue into today, the system will have just enough moisture to work with to throw some rain in our direction, especially tonight. Notice the scattered showers mainly to the west growing around 3pm with rain more numerous during the overnight hours.
Not a lot in the way of totals with this system but some areas may receive up to a quarter-inch of rainfall.
The front associated with this system will pass through the region early in the day on Sunday, meaning our high may occur at midnight.
And that means temperatures will be cooling throughout the day, making Sunday afternoon quite refreshing.
And that paves the way for our friend, the big blue H! Yes, he’s back and he’s going to control our weather for the start of your work week.
That high pressure is going to keep our weather not only dry but just about cloud free and, of course, comfortable.
Today’s Key Points
- Rain chances increase throughout the day today, with the best chance coming tonight.
- Up to around 0.25″ of rain is expected.
- Cold front moves through early Sunday, allowing temperatures to cool during the day.
- Monday looks dry and comfortable under a dome of high pressure.
That just about does it for me! Thanks for checking into WxOrNotBG this morning, and be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WKUweather on Twitter and like Landon Hampton on Facebook for the latest Bowling Green Weather information. Hope you have a terrific Saturday!
