Wait…you’re telling me that there is actually an interesting forecast to work with here!?
I’m not gonna get to ahead of myself, but this is as interesting a forecast as I have had in what feels like a million years. It has been so warm and boring recently, and that pattern looks to continue through at least today.
A surface low pressure system is forecast to move to our north and east as the day progresses onward. This lows to drag a weak front to its southwest, and this will interact with the stronger high to our southeast. This will create a tighter pressure gradient, and will force out winds to flow from the southwest.
This will aid greatly in warming out temps up this afternoon. I have a high of 88°F, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see an 89°F or higher value. If we hit 88°F, then we will tie the highest temperature recorded in November.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t hit 88°F because it is (let me remind all of you again) NOVEMBER, and I am so ready to not be forecast temperatures in the 80s.
The pattern looks to begin to evolve into an active one as we head into Wednesday and Thursday, with Thursday being where the real stuff begins to go down. Model guidance shows a fairly deep trough propagating into southeastern Canada by Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The evolution of this trough after this is really interesting, but I’ll get to that in a second. Wednesday looks fairly bland, as I think there will be a mixture of sun and clouds, with temps a bit cooler than they were today, but not by much.
Clouds will increase by Wednesday evening with the approaching trough, and adjacent surface low. The trough looks to begin to sharply dig towards our region through the end of the forecast period, forcing a fairly strong cold front to pass through the region during the early afternoon of Thursday.
This should knock temps down through the day on Thursday, as rain chances remain most of the day until the cold front kicks through.
Today’s Key Points
- Record Temps could be reached today
- Upper 80s for highs this afternoon
- Bit cooler and cloudier Wednesday
- Rain and cool down on Thursday
- Friday & Saturday look cool and nice
