Here at WxOrNotBG, we have begun to implement a new post every Sunday evening previewing the week ahead. In light of that, I am going to begin posting a review of the previous week each Saturday night, highlighting the major events that occurred, etc. So, with that being said, here is your *cue awesome music* WxOrNotBG Week in review for September 13th through September 20th.
If we are being honest about the past few weeks, it has been incredibly boring weather wise. I mean BORING. The boredom has hit a level that I didn’t even think it could hit. I mean the weather has been sooooooo boring.
I mean, when have any of you seen weather is monotonous? Last winter we had a stretch of weather that was about as boring as this one, but I mean I can’t describe it. Every day is sunny. And not that that is entirely bad, but there is a point where I really just want some rain.
Maybe clouds for a day? Just maybe? Something to break this pattern up a little bit. There isn’t a ton to talk about from last week, as it was essentially sunny everyday of the week. It gradually got warmer throughout the week, but it never got unbearably hot outside.
Part of that is because it is September, and part of that is because it just wasn’t a super hot pattern. But everyday was very nice. One of the more significant problems we are going to begin noticing over the next several weeks is that we are slowly, but surely, entering a drought.
As we receive continually miss out on rainfall opportunities, we will continue to see the effects in the landscape around us. We really are gonna start needing rain soon. And what is ironic is that July was very, very wet. I mean, like, record wet in a lot of areas. The first three weeks of July gave us rainfall on rainfall on rainfall on rainfall.
But recently, nothing has really been happening across much of the state. So…..start your rain dances up!
Not much happened on the tropical front last week. However, toward the end of the week, we did get a named storm. Her name is Ida. Ida the storm. Anyways, before that, there was a little depression that just kinda meandered across the atlantic and never got its act together.
That was kinda fun to watch occur. As of this post, Ida doesn’t look too good, but we’ll have to see what happens. She is forecasted to become close to a hurricane in a couple of days.
That’s all for last week! Who knows what will happen this coming week….
