Wednesday Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 6/24 – Partly Sunny – High 90˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 70˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! I think we can all agree – whether “summer babies” or winter lovers – that it has been HOT lately. Temperatures in the low to mid-90s with high dew points have made it feel simply oppressive outside. Thankfully, today may give us a slight break from those conditions… that is if you consider a high of around 90° a break. I guess that’ll do.

These “cooler” temperatures are due to the cold front that passed through yesterday and winds from the north coming in behind that. A high pressure center will leave us dry for the day, with partly sunny skies. Temperatures tonight will remain in the upper 60s/low 70s.

Thursday, 6/25 – Mostly Sunny; HOT – High 95˚ / Thursday Night – Mostly Cloudy; Chance of Storms – Low 75˚

Unfortunately, all things must come to an end… Thursday will be HOT once again as winds shift southwesterly. A warm front ahead of an approaching low pressure system will allow temperatures to kick up into the mid-90s by the afternoon.

With mostly sunny skies and high humidity, heat indices could very well break 100° once again. So you know the drill – wear sunscreen, drink lots of water, and take breaks when needed.

A slight chance of storms comes back into play Thursday afternoon, with chances increasing overnight. Temperatures Thursday night will stay quite mild, with lows in the low to mid-70s.

Friday, 6/26 – Showers and Storms – High 86˚ / Friday Night – Showers and Storms – Low 68˚

Friday brings the greatest chance of rain for the week, with showers and thunderstorms developing throughout the entire day and into the overnight hours. The atmosphere looks as though it will definitely be rich in moisture, so some heavy downpours are possible as the front stalls over the region.

Due to the rain, temperatures won’t be making it out of the 80s, with cooler temperatures following in behind the front. This weekend we could see highs around 80° (Check out the temperature forecast for Saturday)!!!

What a nice change that would be (right in time for me to go on vacation…). Showers and thunderstorms will continue overnight Friday, with a chance of rain for much of Saturday.
