Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 6/3 – Partly Sunny – High 78˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 60˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! For some of you all, this is just another day of the week during summer break. For the rest of you, making it halfway through the week is still something to celebrate – here’s to you.

It hasn’t been easy getting out and working the past few days, as the start of June has been an unseasonably cool and dreary one! According to the National Weather Service, Bowling Green hit a whopping 66° yesterday – that’s 17° below the average for this time of year (83°). However, if you’re looking for summer, you’re in luck! A warming trend beginning today will have us in the 80s for the end of the week.

A low pressure center has been circling right around our area, keeping clouds lingering for the past few days. The models are disagreeing a bit on how much cloud cover we may receive, but with the infamous low sticking around for just another day, the clouds look as though they might as well. So we’re going with partly cloudy skies for the day today.

These clouds may affect our high temperatures if they stick around all day, but temperatures look as if they’ll be able to reach the upper 70s by the afternoon.

Clouds will clear some by the evening and overnight hours, with temperatures dropping to around 60° and winds becoming calm.

Thursday, 6/4 – Mostly Sunny; Iso’d Storm Chance – High 84˚ / Thursday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 65˚

Temperatures will start to ramp up to seasonal normals beginning Thursday, as the annoying low wobbles toward the Carolinas. This will allow more sunshine (if you remember what that looks like) to be present, as upper-level ridging moves into the area. These two conditions combined will allow for high temperatures to reach the low to mid-80s on Thursday!

A slight chance for afternoon pop up storms will begin once again on Thursday, but the best chances for rain look to remain to our east. These isolated storm chances will dissipate Thursday night, with temperatures in the mid-60s under partly cloudy skies.

Friday, 6/5 – Mostly Sunny; Iso’d Storm Chance – High 85˚ / Friday Night – Sct’d Showers/Storms Late – Low 68˚

Friday will more or less be a repeat of Thursday, with the exception that high temperatures may be a degree or two warmer. Mostly sunny skies will dominate, with the isolated chance for an afternoon storm. Overall, the weather looks pretty favorable for spending the day laying by the pool if you have the chance!

Storm chances will pick up Friday night and into Saturday as a front moves in from the northwest. Temperatures will remain a bit milder – in the upper 60s – for Friday night.
